Questions and answers
Road bike rental FAQ
Everything riders usually ask us before renting a road bike in Altea and on the Costa Blanca: booking and prices, sizing, delivery, and what happens if something goes wrong on the road.
Booking and prices
Booking, prices and payment
How do I book a bike?
Use the booking button for the bike you want on our Bikes & Booking page. It opens our live booking system, run by Ride in the Box, where you pick your dates and see a firm price. If you would like advice on sizing, delivery or a group booking first, send us a booking request instead. No payment is taken until we have confirmed everything with you.
How much does it cost to rent a road bike?
The SuperSix EVO LAB71 SL costs €150 for one day, €350 for three days and €700 for a week. The SuperSix EVO 2 costs €150 for three days and €315 for a week. The Synapse Neo e-road bike costs €180 for three days and €350 for a week. The longer you rent, the less each day costs.
Is there a minimum rental period?
The SuperSix EVO LAB71 SL can be rented for a single day. The SuperSix EVO 2 and the Synapse Neo have a three-day minimum.
Do you need a deposit?
No credit card deposit is required if you add our accidental damage cover at €20 per day. It carries no excess. Theft is not covered by it. We confirm the accepted payment methods when we reply to your booking request.
Who will my booking confirmation come from?
Premium Bike Rental is a concept run by Ride in the Box, so your booking confirmation, invoice and booking emails come from Ride in the Box. Same team, same bikes.
How far in advance should I book?
The fleet is small, and February to April fills early. If your dates are fixed, a few weeks' notice is sensible. Outside peak season, a few days is usually enough.
Do you rent bikes to groups and training camps?
Yes. Tell us the group size, the dates and the mix of sizes you need, and we will confirm what we can supply. Groups of six or more, and rentals of three weeks or more, are quoted individually.

Bikes, sizing and setup
Which bikes do you rent?
Three Cannondales: the SuperSix EVO LAB71 SL flagship with SRAM RED AXS and a power meter, the SuperSix EVO 2 with Shimano Ultegra Di2 and 45 mm carbon wheels, and the Synapse Neo carbon e-road bike with a Bosch motor. We run the Cannondale Bike Test Center at Hotel Cap Negret, so the fleet is current-season.
Which frame size will I need?
Send us your height and inside-leg measurement, or tell us the make, model and size of your own bike. We will match it as closely as the fleet allows and confirm before you travel. Frame sizes run from 44 to 61 cm.
Are pedals included?
No. Bring your own and we will fit them for free, or rent Shimano SPD-SL, Shimano SPD, Look Kéo or flat pedals for €5 per day.
Can I bring my own saddle?
Yes, and we would encourage it. We fit your saddle and pedals before you collect, at no extra cost, and can also transfer your own bar tape or computer mount.
What is included with every rental?
A full mechanical service before every rental, setup to your measurements, two bottle cages, a puncture repair kit, a Garmin or Wahoo mount, route advice and GPX files, and a Bosch battery charger with the Synapse Neo.
Can I rent a helmet?
Yes, a lightweight, ventilated, adjustable helmet in S, M or L for €5 per day. Helmets are compulsory on roads outside towns in Spain.
Collection and delivery
Getting your bike
Where do I collect the bike?
At our base at Hotel Cap Negret, Partida Cap Negret 7, Altea. Collection is free and by appointment rather than fixed shop hours, so we can meet you early, late or straight off a flight. Hotel guests can collect and return bikes at reception.
Do you deliver to my accommodation?
Yes, for €30 each way (€60 for delivery and collection) to Altea, Albir, L'Alfàs del Pi, Benidorm, La Nucía, Polop, Callosa, Calpe, Benissa, Moraira, Xàbia and Dénia. We set the bike up and check your position. Staying somewhere else? Ask us.
Do you deliver to Alicante airport?
No. Hotel Cap Negret is about 45 minutes from Alicante airport. Tell us your arrival time and the bike will be built and waiting for you at the base, or delivered to your accommodation.
What happens at the end of my rental?
Return the bike to Hotel Cap Negret at the time we have agreed, or, if you booked delivery and collection, we come and pick it up from your accommodation.
Out on the road
Riding with us
What if I have a mechanical problem on a ride?
Call us. Within our delivery area we will come to you, and if the bike cannot be fixed at the roadside we will swap it for another. Every bike goes out with a spare tube and tools.
Do you have route suggestions?
Yes: six routes from Altea, from an easy 50 km to Guadalest to a 127 km day over the Port de Tudons, each with a map, elevation profile and a free GPX download. No email address required.
When is the best time to cycle on the Costa Blanca?
From October to May. January and February are peak training-camp season, and March to May is arguably the best riding of the year. Summer is hot, so ride early.
What are the cycling rules in Spain?
Helmets are compulsory outside towns, you may ride two abreast but must go single file when traffic builds up, drivers must give you 1.5 m when overtaking, and headphones are not allowed. Our guide to cycling rules in Spain covers the details.
