Riders, first and foremost
We are a small bike rental operation based at Hotel Cap Negret in Altea — a Premium Bike Rental concept run by Ride in the Box. We do not have a warehouse full of anonymous hire bikes, and we ride the same roads we send you out on.
Our story
It started, as these things do, with a bad rental bike
Anyone who has travelled to ride knows the feeling: you arrive somewhere beautiful, you have planned the trip for months, and you are handed a heavy, badly maintained bike two sizes from the one you asked for. The week is not ruined, exactly — but it is diminished.
Premium Bike Rental was created by Ride in the Box — the bike rental specialists owned by Tuscany Ride a Bike, who have spent years putting good bikes under travelling cyclists — to do the opposite. A small fleet, kept properly. Bikes we would happily ride ourselves. Set up to your measurements before you arrive, delivered to where you are staying, and backed up by people who will answer the phone if something goes wrong on the road.
Today we operate from Hotel Cap Negret on the seafront in Altea, serving riders across the northern Costa Blanca — from weekend visitors and couples on a winter break to full training camps.
Who you will hear from. Bookings are handled by Ride in the Box, so your booking confirmation, invoice and any booking emails will come from Ride in the Box rather than from a Premium Bike Rental address. Same team, same bikes — just the company name on the paperwork.

How we work
Four things we will not compromise on

A small fleet, kept well
We would rather turn a booking away than send out a bike that is not right. Every rental gets a full mechanical check, not a wipe-down.

The right size, properly set up
Frame size, saddle height, bar reach and pedals sorted before you collect. Bring your own saddle and we will fit it.

We answer the phone
A mechanical forty kilometres out is not an email exchange. Within our area we will come and find you.

Honest advice about the roads
We ride here every week. If a climb is closed, a surface has broken up or a café has shut, we will tell you before you go.
Where to find us
On the seafront at Hotel Cap Negret
Our base sits on the coast road just north of Altea old town, which makes it an unusually good place to start a ride: you are out of the traffic and heading inland towards Callosa within a few minutes of clipping in.
Guests of the hotel can collect and return bikes at reception. Everyone else is welcome to park and collect from us directly — just let us know roughly when you are arriving.
